Curious. Simply Curious.

It seems that maybe, just maybe, Cleveland local authorities may not be as misguided or moronic as initially thought. Not really.

But for the meantime, it seems that the RTA is postponing it's fare hikes and route cuts.

RTA postpones decision on service cuts, eyes bailout

RTA has delayed a recommendation to reduce bus service and raise fares because of public outrage and a possible bailout by the state.

In fact, the authority might be able to avoid making serious cuts altogether.

At least half of up to $10 million in state-controlled federal money could be available to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority within a year.

That money comes from the CMAQ program (Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality) that helps communities cut pollution and ease traffic congestion.

And, Whaddaya know... There just happened to be a nice $10,000,000 reach around waiting there from the CMAQ. It doesn't take a savant to discern what is going on... Hell the bits of corn from last night's shit could tell that something here doesn't pass the smell test.

Maybe it was the huge oil market crash over the past few weeks that brought a little bit of a calm to the fuel cost storm... Maybe it was just another way for government to control the lives of Clevelanders by taxing them yet again... Or maybe it was just because no one, even county commissioners, enjoys being bitched at incessantly....

Either way, the CMAQ money did not just appear out of thin air. But who are we to blame the corrupt city and county commissioners for not enlightening us prior to this date?...the poor saps of Cleveland have been fed so much shit over the past 150 years that it's now common practice to spoon feed it to the working man in this Lake Erie paradise.

Either way, this does not change a damn thing in the long run... Fares will be hiked up... much like my girlfriend's skirt in front of a line of negros, Routes will evaporate, and Michael Symon will still be bald.
